Private beta completed— Lessons learnt and next steps

As we move on from the private beta stage of Cambleu, we’ve taken a moment to reflect on our journey so far and some important lessons we’ve learnt.

It was a bit scary sharing our product with people. We have been heavily invested financially, mentally and emotionally in building Cambleu for a while now, and we were skeptical about its reception, but hopeful. To be honest we didn’t know what to expect.

We put out the private beta on the 19th of April 2021. The private beta stage ended on the 31st of May 2021 and lasted 41 days. We were able to get 33 persons to sign up and upload 58 memories on Cambleu.

Learning a different approach

The whole private beta process became about exploring a number of problems from a customer perspective, and working out what possible ways there could be to solve these problems for the customer. This means talking to the right people — the customers — and following their journey and adding detail through understanding the process, system constraints, analyzing the data etc.

We’ve learnt to be open minded about the problems and the possible solutions and allow the evidence to lead the way to a conclusion.

Welcoming help and guidance

We’ve also learnt more about exactly who our users will be. Because of this, we started to engage with other potential users.

Celebrating and learning from our mistakes

We’ve celebrated mistakes because learning from them has really lead to improvements, either in our understanding of the problems, the customer experience or the solutions we are offering. We’ve had to be flexible and trust the process.

Next steps

There is so much yet to do and learn, but for every mistake we learn from, we’re inching further towards a product that delivers lasting impact in a measurable and truly delightful way.
